Frequently Asked Questions
What does the string quartet need to be able to play?
The string quartet requires a clear space of 3 metres by 2 metres. We also need 4 dining style chairs without arms. If you are thinking of booking the electric string quartet then access to a double power socket will be required. The socket must be close to where the string quartet sets up.
How do we book the string quartet or string duo?
To book the string quartet or string duo go to our 'Contact Us' page on the website and complete the contact form and send this to us. We will check our availability and get back to you as quickly as possible. Please provide as much detail about your event as you can so that we can give you an accurate fee quote. If you decide to proceed we will then send you a contract.
Why do you offer a string duo?
Our string duo is particularly suited to the smaller wedding or venue and offers a more affordable alternative to the string quartet. Check out our 'String Duo' page on the website for more information.
Can we select the music you play?
To choose the music you would like us to play please go to our 'Repertoire' page on our website and e-mail your choices to us. We will always discuss with you the music we perform for the key elements of the wedding service or civil ceremony (processional, signing of the register and recessional).
You don't have the music we would like?
If we don't have the music you want in our repertoire we will try to source a string quartet or string duo arrangement for you. If we cannot find a commercially available arrangement we can provide an arrangement service. Both of these services will incur an additional fee.
Can you play outside?
Yes but string instruments damage very easily. If we play outside to protect our instruments from direct sunlight we need to be under a shelter, under a shady tree or in the shade of a building. We cannot play outside in damp conditions. Click here to find out more.
What happens if a player falls ill?
We have a pool of quality players who are familiar with our repertoire that we use in these circumstances to enable the booking to go ahead.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes both the string quartet and string duo have Public Liability Insurance to an indemnity of £10 million. View our Insurance Certificate here
When will you arrive at the venue?
