Last night the string quartet had a dinner engagement with the 14 Reg't Royal Artillery at their Larkhill Barracks on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. We really enjoy playing for formal mess dinners as everyone is immaculately attired in their dress uniforms and this together with the surroundings adds to the sense of occasion.
The dinner was held as several members of the Regiment were leaving or moving to new postings. The quartet provided music throughout the meal for the 100 members or so of the Mess and we also enjoyed the various breaks for speeches!! Once again we used the electric string quartet as this enabled us to adjust the sound level of the quartet to match the ambient noise level in the room.
A Big Thank You to the Regiment for booking the quartet and we look forward to returning in the future for other Mess functions.......
