Our second string quartet wedding last weekend was on Sunday at Upwaltham Barns in West Sussex . This wedding venue has been created from a group of converted traditional Sussex flint barns and now provides a stunning wedding venue in the South Downs National Park between Chichester and Petworth.
The string quartet was booked for both the civil wedding ceremony and the follow on drinks reception. The ceremony was held in the East Barn and with 130 guests seated in the Barn the quartet had to set up next to the Registrar's table. We were pleased to play 'Nothing Else Matters' by Metallica the couples favourite song for the arrival of the bride. This is not a song that is requested that often but our arrangement of it will make it a firm quartet favourite from now on. During the signing of the register we played 'Canon in D' by Pachelbel and as James and Sophia left the ceremony we played 'The Entertainer ' by Scott Joplin.
We then set up in the lovely courtyard area to entertain the guests during the drinks reception providing a wide range of music from our repertoire. James and Sophia requested that we played them both into the wedding breakfast with 'Nothing Else Matters' which nicely rounded off a perfect afternoon.
Congratulations to both James and Sophia on their marriage.
